So, Art decided to go in for Jim West’s Desktop Challenge. I couldn’t pass up the chance to show off Ubuntu so here is my screenshot (click to enlarge):
Of course, I’m also going to cheat and show you what my desktop looks like as I rotate between workspaces–because Linux is cooler than Windows.

Whoa, that rotation is sweet.
I was looking into getting a Linux based notebook, like the Acer One, because they are so cheap, a lot better than windows, and they run OpenOffice and Firefox…all I really need to survive.
Is there Bible Software for Linux?
Art, that rotation is only the beginning of what Linux can do on a computer with a decent video card.
You bring up the one bane of my existence when running Linux: Bible Software. On my computer I have a virtual machine that runs Windows XP. The only reason I have it is so that I can run Libronix. To be fair Linux has Bible software where I can cut and paste Hebrew, or do some quick searches (along the lines of Bible Gateway), but nothing that’s really powerful enough for what I need.
Otherwise though, I think Linux is way better than Windows and more cost efficient than a Mac (depending on what one means by “cost efficient”)
Yummy. But I think picture is cooler.
