Even King David [if you believe he really existed] felt that to have something of value, one should pay something for it.
A person may well like something that is free, but when a person gives something of value for something else, this adds value to what is purchased. Whether the price paid is money or or anything else of value to the person.
Yes, missing PBC's library can be a scary thing....makes one appreciate the simple things in life more.
Actually I believe that the current culture of entitlement migrates people toward wanting to be giving a fish instead of being taught to fish.

I walked into the library I used to go to as a child. After the librarian (who was amazed that I grew up to be a pastor and not a drug dealer) hugged me, I asked her "Hey, can you get me anything in the realm of Biblical or Theological Studies through interlibrary loan or something?"

She laughed at me. *sigh*

Sometimes I miss Practical's library...which is scary.
